Squashed Tomatoes & Stew

Celebrating those often, strange idiosyncratic family traditions. Like a different take on the words for ‘Happy Birthday’ or more perversely, the fact that in our family we scream as the cake is cut – like the cake is being murdered. Where it came from we have no idea. And it’s a horrible thought, yet it seems it has passed to the next generation!
 
I love how little ones are always determined to blow out the candles, but so rarely manage it! And of course singing Happy Birthday is rarely sung tunefully, someone is bound to be out of key. And then there are the silly variations, like the squashed tomatoes and stew variety - what does that even mean?
